Lake Cedar Park
Did you know there is a Lake Cedar Park?
That's the name proposed in Cedar Park's Open Space and Master Plan: http://www.cedarparktexas.gov/home/showdocument?id=488
The flood control lake is also called Soil Conservation Site #6. There is one park along the south side - McCann Park. It features a nice paved walking trail, with a bit of unpaved at the west end along the creek. The city has plans for future development along the creek feeding into the lake and appears to own much of the land already. The lake doesn't appear to be very deep judging by the old fence posts well out in the water. But it is pretty and makes a nice spot for a quick walk. Watch yourself near the bluffs where the creek from Riviera Springs flows into the lake. Leaves on sloped rock could mean you take an unexpected swim - and I doubt the water is deep enough for the plunge to be safe. As you approach 183 (Bell Blvd) you'll come up behind Muir Lake Apartments. Maybe that is another name option?
If you have seen the Twin Lakes at Twin Lakes YMCA - this is the lake hidden on the other side of 183 that flows into them.
